equine partnered somatic coaching

Why equine partnered somatic coaching?
We find healing when we feel like we belong and when we are supported. When we have experienced a lot of difficulty feeling safe with other humans, the beings of the natural world can be a bridge to healing.
Horses can welcome us into a herd experience, and help build that felt sense of belonging. Equine partnered somatic coaching provides a container for us to experience ourselves in the reflective mirror horses offer us, in service to deep resourcing and integration so you can feel more present and connected in your life.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are held in a peaceful location, either in a covered arena or out in the pasture. We spend time arriving on the land and with the horses, and discussing your goals for the session. From there, the session is co-creative with you and I and the herd- it could include grounding exercises and somatic awareness practices, groundwork or grooming, all in centered relationship with our horse friends. No horse experience necessary. We will not be riding the horses.
Why horses?
Horses are incredibly attuned to body language as a core aspect of their survival. They pick up on things we may be totally unaware of. “Horses bring desire for relationship without prejudice, seeking contact and congruence as the only criteria for the creation of emotional intimacy.“ (From my teachers, Duey Freeman & Kimberly Rose). When we show up congruently, meaning our inner experience matches our outwards expression, we invite true connection with the world around us. Horses help us to practice and embody this way of showing up to our relationships.

Who is this for?
This work may benefit you if:
-
You feel as though you cannot sense your own intuition and clarity.
-
You are experiencing burnout from work, responsibilities, and relationships.
- You feel disconnected from your body and emotions, and feel overwhelmed easily.
-
You feel drawn to horses and are curious about exploring your relationship with them.
We become what we practice.
Organic systems (including humans) are inherently moving towards healing. If a tree is wounded, sap comes to seal the scrape. When humans experience trauma, our nervous and other systems work hard to keep us alive by adapting in all kinds of ways. When we don’t have the right support and environment to allow ourselves to fully reintegrate, we can get stuck in behaviors and thought processes as the cycle of healing can’t complete.
We are a social, and therefore attachment-based species. We cannot heal or thrive in isolation; it goes against our nature. It is in non-judgmental relationship and welcome that our systems feel the space and support to mend. These relationships are with other humans, animals, and with the natural world we are a part of.
Let’s practice together.
